Great story, another example how the illegal immigration debate is now a big part of our culture.
In 1993, when I was 14, I became a regular on �Sesame Street.� The show usually liked to have a teenager on, so that was me. My character had my same name, Carlo, and eventually I got a job at Mr. Hooper�s store. I had to make a birdseed milkshake for Big Bird, that was my tryout. I ended up appearing on �Sesame Street� for five years. But the whole time, I had a secret: I was an undocumented immigrant. The papers I�d used to get hired were fake.My family had come from Ecuador when I was seven and my older brother Angelo was nine. We came on a tourist visa, and the moment my parents had gotten it, we knew we were not coming back. They sold all our furniture before we left.
My mother had a sister living legally in the United States, and my parents planned to have her sponsor us for residency. Soon after landing in New York, my parents saw a lawyer. But we were told the process would take four or five years.
Coming to the States was traumatic. In Ecuador, we had lived in a house. Here, we were in a small apartment. We didn�t know any English. But you know, at that age, things change quickly. In six months we were speaking English and running around like normal kids. Most of the time, we blended in. But we knew weren�t supposed to be here, and we lived with a lot of fear.
I started acting when I was 11, almost as a fluke. One day, we went to visit our cousins, and they were on their way to try-outs for a community theater production of �Oliver!� It was through a program put on by the city, to get disadvantaged kids off the street. When we got there, the producers were like, �You should try out, too.� So my brother and I did. Then we all went to lunch. When we got home, we had a phone message that we�d both been cast. The President has started revealing his plans on immigration for the next year. It sounds like he's planning on trying a do-over with Congress and attempting again to get a comprehensive immigration bill passed. He'll make the case for this in his State of the Union Address. I'm happy the President is still interested in working for change, I sincerely hope he is not making passing a reform bill his SOLE strategy. I'm reminded of Presidents in the past who regularly spoke in favor of something, but you just knew they didn't really care and were just trying to appease...

Myself(Husband) & mywife both came on H1B from same employer.
My son got H4 visa through my wife H1B visa.
I (Husband) applied for green card and got EAD for myself & mywife , got Advance parole for myself, mywife & myson and are in 485 pending AOS status,
My Wife is taking permanent job with EAD (EAD is through my Greencard process)
If employer cancels my wife H1B she will come to EAD status.
I am not sure what will be the status of my son who is currently on H4 visa through my wife H1B visa.
My son got Advance Parole and 485 pending status through my green card.
Do I need to apply for H4 visa for my son or will my son be ok on pending AOS status ?
His status is AOS. Unless a decision is made on your GC he needs no other visa or documentation to be in USA. If your GC application gets denied (Should not happen ever) then you lose AOS and you will have to talk to an attorney to see how long you can be in US - for the sake of filing an MTR etc.
Once a person files for 485 and application is pending a decision they can be in US without a VISA. If you travel outta US and needs re-entry that could be done useing AP. Hope this helps........

Approved labor (PD 2003 EB2) from company A (not employed with them). Filed 140 and 485 (self as primary and wife as dependent). Ability to pay RFE on 140 and then denial on 140 and 485. Currently, appealed the decision because needed to get H1 extension and case has reopened. My wife (with company B) had her 140 approved (EB3 with PD 2006) and so after the July bulletin filed for 485 (her as primary and me as dependent) because my case seeemed a little dicy.
So we both have multiple 485's filed (although the first one since the decision is not final on 140 technically they might not have started considering the 485). Read multiple places that legally you can have only one 485 approved but could have multiple 485 pending and withdraw the other once anyone has been approved. Is this true? or you CANNOT even have two 485 pending?What is the best thing for me do do right now?

In my case i filed for I-140 and had a notice to deny bacause they put the worng name on the application....:eek:
we then refiled a second i-140, but processing was stopped on that because they needed the original labor cert. from my first i-140.
i filed on 19th May, and finally got approved on 27th July, although i did file PP.
So i would say a couple of months is about right for the labor cert. to be transferred from one case to another.

Is it normal that I haven't FP notice after almost closed to a month after the checks have been encashed?..
