Few SSA offices do allow to submit application for SSN few days before 10/01. But few of them donot allow and suggests to come on or after 10/01.
So just give a try. But request them if they were able to find your information in the system. Few offices, though they donot find in the system, they take the application but few of them say that they could not find the information in the system and will suggest to come back again.
Thanks

First, submit a change of address form on USCIS web site for you and your wife. Have all of your receipts ready - after the general change of address form you will need to submit one for every petition (!) you have pending.
After you receive all of the change of address confirmations from USCIS (takes about a week), make an InfoPass appointment or juggle the call center system into transferring to your service center to talk to an immigration officer - please make sure all of your addresses got changed.
Don't forget to foreward mail at the post office.
I applied under EB2-NIW on July 28, 2007. Under the concurrent filing allowed at that time, I submitted NIW, I-140, I485, and EAD applications for me and my wife. I have changed jobs, and joined a new company last week.
Since I filed a self-petition, my application should not be directly affected by this move. However what do I need to do to inform uscis about this change, so that my receipts/EAD etc. do not go to the wrong place, or worse, get returned by the post office.
Please advice. Any additional info/experience would be great.

Gifts & Items Sent to the White House
Items sent to the White House often experience a significant delivery delay and can be irreparably harmed due to the security screening process. Therefore, please do not send items of personal importance, such as family photographs, because items may be unable to be returned. We also request that gifts of a consumable nature, such as food, flowers, and other perishable items, not be sent to the White House due to the security screening process. While the President and Mrs. Bush and Vice President and Mrs. Cheney appreciate your thoughtfulness, they request that you look instead to your local community for opportunities to assist your neighbors in need.

The New York Times published a poll this week that only 30% of Americans would like to see the twelve million illegally present immigrants in the US deported. And 65% would like to see them legalized either on a temporary basis or given a path to eventual citizenship. In fact, while the number wanting to see legalization dropped by one percent since the same question was asked in late 2007, a significantly higher percentage polled preferred a path to citizenship versus temporary status. For all of those saying that the public won't accept legalization during a severe economic downturn, the...

All,
Per Aug 2008 Bulletin, my dates are current.
But My and My spouse's 485 is transferred to NBC sometime back (we never heard anything)
My daughters 485 is still at TSC.
Anyone know, whats gonna happen now?
I get a feeling that, our apps will be laying eggs while dates are current

I just wanted to post my recent AP experience through Chicago Airport. I travelled with my wife to France and used AP to reenter. Overall process was smooth. At the counter officer asked for all 3 AP documents, but I was carrying only two with me. Officer said I need to carry all three . Then they asked me to go to different office. They took out AP ( 2 originals) , 485 notice and Passport. Thats all. It took 15 minutes. They kept one original AP and gave second AP document with stamp. I asked what if I need to travel again..i have just one more extra AP document left? They suggested that I request more documents because they need at least two originals for each entry.
Did any one have same experience? How many documents they really need ? Has anyone asked USCIS for extra copies? How much does that cost ?
I may have to travel couple of time for business.
Please recommend
Thanks

Now is this for a RFE where a notarized copy is specifically asked ?
My dad just scanned my BC and e-mailed it and I took a print out of that and sent it for the I-485. (No RFE)
Why do you need the originals ? There is no requirement to get it notarized as well.

The idea of a H1 transfer is a misnomer. Every application is a new H1. However, if you already are in a valid H1 nonimmigrant category then your new application is not subjected to the cap.
Whats the difference between H1 transfer and a new H1?

How long does it take to get a new SSN issued? Any one applied recently?
I applied it on a Monday and visited the office again on Tuesday and got the number. The card came in mail in 7 days. State is MA.
Hope this helps.

As I understand the process, if your date is current, the USCIS will accept your application - meaning they ARE processing applications with a priority date matching or exceeding yours.
During the July 2007 fiasco, the cut-off dates were current, allowing everyone to apply. If we submitted our application and the date is current at the time, why do we have to wait until our date becomes current again? Shouldn't they process the application within 6 months or less?
You application will continue to be processed when it is within the processing time - visa allocation happens only when your PD is current, which apparently is not. Moreover - Visa Bulletin is just a Forecast based on current demand so, actuals can vary at any time. There is so much to read about this in many forums including this, so you may want do more research before asking - I have a reason to tell you this because your poor soul will soon be hounded by GURUS for not researching enough :-) Hope you understand!
Cheers

Hi,
I had my last name misspelled and middle name missing on my filed perm labor application and it was filed on 12/12/2007. It was selected for audit in Feb 2008 and have not received any update until now. Can this error in my name be corrected on my application. Please advice.

I tried to find answers in other forums but didn't find any.
I would appreciate if any attorneys/knowledge people can help me with this
Doing a AR11/Change of address, do I include all these as additional applications
1. MTR number
2. Appeal number
3. Original 485 (denied) for primary applicant
4. Original 485 (denied) for spouse
5. Denied 140 number
or just these
1. MTR number
2. Appeal number
Also, i have a pending date-error request with my H1B and H4 extensions, do i include the H1B and H4 numbers as well.
This is getting complicated and i have just 2 more days before the 10days rule for filing AR11.
Anybody who had a pending appeal during a change of address, please reply.
thanks in appreciation
