I had a similar situation at my work place (attorney is Fragomen...what a coincicence). This was in response to recent stepped up H1B site inspections by USCIS. As a reult, Fragomen recommended that "working from home" or "teleworker" status is not allowed under H1B. So, no more working from home for me :(

I have been reading posts where suggestions of writing letters to various political figures have been raised and hopefully implemented. I have a suggestion too, please ignore if this has already been brought up and discussed.
As a popular saying goes, a picture is worth a thousand words. So, my suggestion is :
Send our pictures to these people (whoever they are - senator, congressmen etc.). We can include 2 pictures each- eg.- one picture when we initially came (5-10 years back, unmarried, younger looking, graduation picture, college campus etc.). Another picture can be a more recent one (with family, kids, in our office, professional attire, house, car etc.).
We can include a tagline behind each picture.
Now since digital photography has taken over hard copies, many of us would be lazy enough to go take prints and then send them to the senators. So, we can email our pictures to one person (or IV core) and they can hand over the package to the concerned authorities.
I know this is a very rough sketch of what is actually involved in making this happen, so please come up with suggestions/ ideas.

I was eagerly looking for 485 processing date to move forward
from Jul 30. Hope NSC will process the NameCheckPending Cases Fast
and let the processing dates move forward.. :)
Also, even if the visa numbers advance, I have to cross the 485 processing
date first... is that right?
Or, what happens if my 485 is not yet processed but the bulletin makes
my date as current? :confused:

My wife has changed her status from H4 to F1 in last
year. She will be on F1-studies till July mid
of this year. Few weeks back she got her EAD for her
F1-OPT, which will start on Aug 15 of this year.
As I am going to file AOS for her and also EAD, will
she able to work on her OPT-EAD till she gets her
I-485 EAD? Or She need to wait till she gets her
I-485 EAD to work?
As far as I know she need to wait till she gets her EAD of 485.
I sent a mail to lawyer he did not respond yet.
She is going to meet her international advisor on this sometime next week
, but he does not seem to be an expert in this area.

@sanju_dba - Sorry to disappoint you. We did think about making a documentary, but in the end we all figured that a lot more people might be interested in a narrative feature film. Perhaps we are wrong, but it was just a decision that our team collectively made.

All I can say is, I've been in this country for over 10 years still waiting for a green card like a lot of people. I just wanted to do something to make more people aware of the issues. I'm passionate about film making so I figured way I can do it is to make a film about stories based on my personal experience. Now, I don't know how the audience will perceive the film or if it will change their mind. But one thing's for sure, we all have given our best to this film and attempted to tell stories that have affected our lives.

When do you think a person with PD of Nov 2007 ,EB3 from India, would be able to file for 485??

Reid gambled in calling for a cloture. The reason it will fail is that they need 60 votes for cloture. Specter and John McCain would have supported cloture and passed their OWN bill if not for Durbin and Reid doing in your face type of stuff and putting off a lot of republicans.
Now, if the cloture fails everyone is assuming that the Republicans can pass by a simple majority the new compromise.
Well did anyone think of this - if the republicans are spiteful today after defeating cloture (which John McCain too said he will vote to do) then the democrats will not vote for cloture tomorrow!!
Result: No legislation.
The only way to overcome this is to flood democratic senators lines early tomorrow and after cloture today to ask them to support the "compromise" from republicans.

Ask your attorney to file an MTR. (ensure it done within 30 days of denial). When you file an MTR it sent back to the service center that had actually denied the petetion (in your case NSC) asking the IO to revisit his decsion (with any additional information that your attorney would add). If the IO is unable to make a decision, then he will refer your case to Administrative Appeals Unit.

We sent our I 485 on July 4th.......got receipt of it yesterday. My husband is on H1 and I am on F1. Husband's receipt says "Adjustment as direct beneficiary of immigrant petetion" and mine says " Derivative adjustments"........
Also what does receipt notice means????
